Important Information
Here are some important and useful information about balloon tours in Cappadocia
Ballooning season
The flying season for hot air balloons in Cappadocia is actually the whole year from January to December. The best season is from April to November as the most favorable weather conditions are during these months. The wind is stronger by the end of autumn and beginning of spring therefore most of the balloon tour cancelations are from December to April. There is less chance of doing a balloon flight in winter but winter flying can be incredibly beautiful.
The air is frequently clearer, and visibility much improved (up to 100 km visibility is often possible). Because trees are bare, it's also easier to spot wildlife. The only concern in winter is the cold weather since it may be below zero especially in January and February.
Weather
Weather is obviously an important factor in ballooning. Normally we do fly every day weather permitting. We don't fly in stormy weather or rain.About an hour or so before flight time, we do a weather check to get the information we need to plan the flight.
We'll give you a call soon afterwards and let you know for that final “weather confirmation”. If we do have to cancel the flight because of weather conditions, of course, there is no charge to our passengers. We usually will be able to fly the following day. It is highly recommended that you keep a couple of “optional” days in mind when making your balloon ride reservation, just in case there is a cancellation due the weather conditions.
Cancellation
Only the pilot and Directorate General of Civil Aviation have authority to decide whether a flight goes ahead. We reserve the right to cancel a flight due to unsuitable weather conditions at any time up to the moment of take-off therefore please be aware that there is always chance of cancelation.
If the flight is canceled, you can either reschedule for another day (if there is availability) or receive a full refund.
In order to receive full refund the balloon tour must be canceled by the balloon operator.
According to the past 10 years statistics there is a 280 to 300 days chance of flight in one year.
Balloon flight cancellations are less between May and November seasons.

Location of your hotel in Cappadocia is important. There will be free pick up and drop off at centrally located hotels. Pick up times and drop off times vary depending on your hotel.

Medical conditions
- It is not recommended to go on a balloon tour for passengers who will have entered their 28th week of pregnancy.
-Baskets are not wheelchair accessible, unfortunately, wheelchair-bound passengers cannot be accommodated in balloon tours.
Age Limits
There are no firm age limits on who can fly. Children are always welcomed, however they should be at least 110 cm tall to be able to see over the basket edge.
Children under 5 years of age are not allowed on balloon tours for safety reasons and mainly because they'll have to stand still for an hour.
There is also no such thing as "too old " as long you can stand for at least one hour.
